I’ve been thinking of moving my blog from LiveJournal to another site for a little while now. I just don’t seem to have the time to invest in reading LJ as much as I used to. That is probably a good thing as it means I am doing more things rather than just sitting in front of the computer. I still spend far too much time online, playing on FB, looking at recipe sites, knitting sites, FML….the list goes on. That said, I do miss LJ and the wonderful friends that I’ve made there. Many of them are also on FB so I do get to keep up with them. I will go back to LJ, maybe but for now I just don’t have the time. So I am going to try out WordPress. I am not sure about security so I am not sure if I will be calling people out by name or posting pictures. Have to investigate that.
I do like some features of WordPress. Being able to have multiple pages is nice. I can post my reading list and other fun pages without too much trouble. It seems easy enough to navigate. If I have trouble I suppose I could always ask Nancy since she blogs via WordPress too.
Now that the housekeeping is done , onto real content. Jeff is in New Hampshire for work. He flew up there yesterday and is supposed to come home tonight but I got a text from him earlier that his flight is canceled. No resolution as of yet. We’ll see. Hopefully he will make it home tonight.
Hannah is participating in a Karate demonstration tonight. I think it is for a cub scout troop but I’m not sure. It ends with the kids breaking boards. I don’t know if she has done that or not but it is pretty cool that she was asked to be a part of it. She loves karate. I am glad that she found a sport that she enjoys. She didn’t like soccer – too much running and softball is okay but a bit boring since you have to wait for the ball to come your way or for your turn to be at bat. Karate is something she can do at her own pace and still be active. The senseis at the school she goes to are great with the kids. It is a satellite of a Dojo a few towns over.
Peter participated in a Flag ceremony in honor of Veterans’ Day yesterday and today the entire first grade did presentations on the life cycle of a pumpkin. They created a whole presentation on Kidpics. They were so cute! I was actually able to go because I had worked a few hours on Sunday and earned a few hours of comp time.
Time for me to attend a webinar on Romance Fiction in the Library. More later.
